The
Edmonton Pride Awards have been established to recognize
specific individual or group contributions to the
Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Trans-identified/Queer community. Awards
are presented annually in the following categories:
The Maureen Irwin Award: to an individual lesbian woman for
long-term contribution to the LGBTQ community at large
The Michael Phair Award: to an individual gay man for long-term
contribution to the LGBTQ community at large
The Sheryl McInnis Award: to an individual who, through
scholarship, teaching, and/or academic pursuit has enriched the
LGBTQ community
The Larry Sand Award: to a business that has solidly supported
the LGBTQ community
New Bisexual Award: to an individual bisexual man or woman for
long-term contribution to the LGBTQ community at large. Award
will be named after its’ first recipient.
New TS/TG Award: to an individual trans-identified person for
long-term contribution to the LGBTQ community at large. Award
will be named after its’ first recipient.
Pride Certificates: to recognize individuals, groups, or
particular events in the LGBTQ community.
To nominate a person or group, please provide a short bio of the
nominee, the reasons you think they deserve the award, and any
pertinent contact information.
